Boyd Manne (Head Coach) is a 1987 graduate of Lafayette High School. He earned his B.S. in education from SIU Carbondale and was a member of the 1990 Missouri Valley Baseball Championship team. Boyd earned his M.S. from Southwest Baptist University. Coach Manne has guided his teams to 13 State playoff berths over his coaching career. Coach Manne serves as a district representative on the MFCA All State Coaches Committee. Coach Manne has helped guide 95 of his former players who have gone on to play at the Collegiate level. Coach Manne has had 43 players earn All State recognition. He also has coached an Army All American.  Coach Manne has helped develop Lancer Football traditions with the Pancake Practice Breakfast, Jr Lancer/High School football BBQ, Mom’s Football 101 now known as Lancers Mom’s Night Out, and the Back to School Kick Off Bash. Coach Manne teaches physical education. Boyd and his wife, Angie, have three sons, Ryan, Tyler, and Corey. 

 

Adam Hicks is entering his 15th year of coaching the Lafayette football program. Adam has coached on the freshman, JV, and Adam will be in his 3rd year as the offensive coordinator, after 5 years of coaching as the defensive coordinator on the varsity football team. Adam is a graduate of Eureka High School. Adam Earned his B.S. in Education from Mckendree University. While at Mckendree Adam was a member of the Football and Wrestling teams. Adam earned his M.S from SBU. He is a Physical Education Teacher at Lafayette High School. Adam is also a Varsity assistant coach on the Wrestling team at Lafayette. Adam and his wife Sarah live in Eureka with their sons Emmett and Waylon.

 

 

Rick Voss is entering his 33rd year of teaching and coaching in Rockwood. Rick coached football for 3 years at Crestview Junior High as a freshman assistant, and 30 years at LHS as a junior varsity and varsity assistant. He has served as both offensive and defensive coordinator for the varsity Lancers. This season Rick will be a varsity assistant coach. Rick is a 1986 graduate of Washington High School. Rick earned his B.S. in Education from Northeast Missouri State University, where he met his wife, Susan. While at NMSU, Rick was a member of the 1988 MIAA Conference Championship Football team. Rick earned his M.S from SBU. He is a Physical Education Teacher at LHS. Rick is also the Head Girls Track and Field coach at Lafayette. Rick and Susan have two daughters, Jordyn and Alexandra, and two grandchildren, August and Margo.

 

 

Stephen Polster serves as an assistant varsity coach as well as the head JV coach.  He is in his seventeenth year as a football coach at Lafayette.  Stephen received his degree from SEMO in elementary education and currently teaches sixth grade at Crestview Middle School.  Stephen lives in Wildwood with his wife Laura, who is a LHS graduate and his 8 year old twins Austin and Kennedy.

 

 

Brett Fischer is excited to be back on the Lafayette football staff this season. He is a 2000 Lafayette graduate who then went on to play football at the University of Missouri-Rolla. After graduating with his B.S in Engineering Management, as well as a B.S. in Economics and Finance, Coach Fischer went on to play wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions. Upon leaving the NFL, Coach Fischer returned to coach football at Lafayette in 2009 and then to coach wide receivers and kick returners at Washington University from 2010-2014. Coach Fischer is the owner of 360 Painting of St. Louis County, and is married to Natasha Fischer, the theater teacher at Lafayette. He has three sons who are future Lancers, and his father, Roger Fischer, coached football and taught at Lafayette over a 5 decade span.

 

 

Matt Swoboda is a 2008 Lafayette graduate who has a long history with Lafayette football that stretches back to 1994 when he was a water boy for the freshman football team coached by his father. He later played for the Junior Lancers and played as a center and long snapper for the Lancers during high school. After graduating from Lafayette, he coached for Lafayette for one year in 2011 and went on to graduate from the University of Mississippi in 2013. Matt then became a social studies teacher at Rockwood South Middle School and was the head freshman/JV football coach at Rockwood Summit from 2014-2018. Coach Swoboda has also served as a boy’s volleyball assistant coach for the last five years and is excited to begin teaching at Wildwood Middle School this school year. His wife Evy is a 2010 graduate of Lafayette so their Lafayette roots run deep! They are also the proud parents of Levi and Eliza.

 

 

John Pope is a graduate of St. Joseph Central High School. He was a three sport athlete, lettering in football, wrestling, and track. After high school, he joined the United States Army, where he spent seven years as an Army Special Forces Weapons Sergeant. He lives is Wildwood with his wife, Cassie, and four-year old son, Walker. Coach Pope works with the linebackers and wide receivers, and serves as the JV Defensive Coordinator. This is his 8th season coaching football at Lafayette. He also coaches boys and girls Pole Vault for Lafayette and teaches 7th grade Language Arts at Crestview Middle School.

 

 

Wade Pinkston was born in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in the surrounding area. He was a three sport athlete through all of middle school and high school as well as playing football in college. He earned degrees from both Cumberland College, KY and The Ohio State University. During this time he married Samantha Thomas and raised his oldest daughter Alexandria. Following his time at OSU he moved to California where he started his coaching career in the sports of track, wrestling, and football, as well as having his youngest son Victor. In 2015 he moved to Missouri where he now coaches wrestling and football at Lafayette High School.

 

 

Joe Wier is in his 27th year of teaching and coaching and is originally from Fairview Heights, Illinois. He grew up in a large family of 8, attended high school at Belleville East, and was a LANCER. In high school, he was a state runner-up at 160lbs in large class Illinois in wrestling. After High School, Coach Wier wrestled at Southwest Illinois College and was a 2-time All-American and later at Mizzou, he won a “Big 8” conference championship in 1996. Coach Wier coached Jr Lancer football for 4 years and this is his second year coaching the Freshman team as an assistant at Lafayette. Coach Wier is also the Head Wrestling Coach at LHS. He is married to Sherry Schatzman Wier and they have four kids Alex(25) Ashley(22), Amy(20), and Andrew(16). Coach Wier is thrilled to be part of the LHS football program!

 

Tim Yeargain was born and raised in St. Louis. He attended De Smet Jesuit High School and graduated in 2009. After attending Benedictine College on a baseball scholarship and graduating in 2013, Tim found a teaching and coaching job in Baxter Springs, KS. While there for six years, he taught social studies and was an assistant football and head softball coach. This is Tim’s 3rd year at Lafayette and is teaching social studies. He currently serves as a freshman football assistant coach and head freshman baseball coach. He is very excited about the opportunity to be at Lafayette High School, along with his wife Christine and their two daughters Ellie and Maddie.

 

 

Arvie Kilongkilong is entering his 6th season with the Lafayette Lancers. Arvie graduated from Missouri State University with his degree in Physical Education, with a double minor in Coaching and Religious Studies. Coach Kilongkilong was a three sport athlete in high school while being an All-State Defensive Back during the 2006-07 campaign for McAuley Catholic High School in Joplin, MO. Coach Kilongkilong is an assistant coach for the Lancers working with the Junior Varsity Level. Coach Kilongkilong is a three sport coach at Lafayette High School coaching basketball and track and field as well.

 

 

Matt Waeckerle is a 2015 graduate of Lafayette High School where he played football and lacrosse. He attended the University of Saint Mary earning his B.A. in history and secondary education. While attending Saint Mary he was a part of the Men’s Lacrosse team. Matt is entering his 4th year as a coach for the program; his 3rd year being the head freshman coach.
